Apple Siri 101: All About To Know

Aplle SIRI steve Jobs
Siri stole everyone’s hearts when she – it – was introduced to the world together with the iPhone 4S. Fast forward a year later and Apple has given Siri a rather cool makeover for the iOS 6. Most analysts expect the new operating system to be launched together with the upcoming iPhone 5. If you are excited about the newest addition to Apple’s smartphone family, you can try sating your excitement a little by learning more about the all-new Siri. She will likely be your best friend once you have the iPhone 5 in your hands.

Siri is the perfect date for any sport game. It knows everything about hockey, soccer, football, basketball, and baseball. It can provide you everything from player stats to game schedules to real-time scores of the games playing this very minute.

Siri is your ultimate guide to the silver screen. Aside from screening times and theatre lists, it can also provide you links to movie reviews and trailers as well as interesting tidbits like the awards won by a movie or the total filmography of your favorite actor!

A way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. If there’s a guy you want to impress, Siri can show you the best way to do so. It can provide a list of the perfect places to eat based on factors like location, seating preferences, cuisine, and your budget of course. You will also get links to reviews, photos of the restaurant, and Siri can even book you a table through OpenTable.

Get connected!
It used to be that Siri was only capable of typing your emails and SMS. However, Apple made sure to extend Siri’s capabilities with the iOS 6. This time, Siri can also type on your behalf your tweets and wall posts on your Facebook.

Open up, apps!
It used to be that Siri can also “collaborate” with certain built-in applications installed in your iPhone. This time, Siri’s capabilities extend to downloaded third-party applications as well. Just call on Siri and it can open whichever application you have indicated.

Siri merges with your car.
Apple is currently working out a deal with various automobile manufacturers which – if it does push through – will allow you to ask help from Siri with a push-button system integrated with your vehicle’s steering wheel. This way, you will be able to keep your eyes on the road – as it should be – while getting Siri to help you out.

Siri becomes a polyglot.
Well, okay, Siri was already multilingual in the iOS 5 but it knows more languages thanks to its update from iOS 6. Aside from English, Siri also speaks Spanish, French, Italian, Mandarin and Cantonese, Japanese, and Korean – among others!

To enjoy nonstop conversation with the all-new Siri from iOS 6, you may want to check if your wireless broadband connection is up to speed. It would be a good idea to check if the 3G service from your mobile phone is also fast enough to get Siri to working seamlessly for you 24/7.

Apple’s Unveiling of the iPhone 5: What Audiences Found Out

Apple iphone5
Wednesday, September 12, 2012 is perhaps another remarkable date in Apple’s history. It is during this day when the iPhone 5 is finally unveiled during a media event held at San Francisco. Before this occasion even up to the last day, iPhone 5 rumours which doesn’t seem so for being so accurate, were so prevalent but all of these has finally reached their end now that the creator of iPhone 5 themselves has revealed the said iOS phone.

Apple’s iPhone 5 launch: What the audiences found out

Perhaps, a more appropriate title for this article would be, ‘What Audiences Has Confirmed’. Considering the wide array of reliable 5 rumours covering almost every aspect of the iPhone 5, people already have a lot of ideas about the new iOS smart phone that Apple will launch next.

But one benefit that the audiences got at the September 12 media event at San Francisco is that they were able to witness Apple’s presentation of the iPhone 5 where the iOS 6 functions and the new features were demonstrated. During the presentation, a lot of amazing features were announced by Apple.

Among these are the improved dimensions making the iPhone 5 18 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter than its predecessor, the iPhone 4S. The iPhone 5’s improved dimensions are 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm and 112 grams. Although the iPhone increased its height a bit, it should not get in the way of being more comfortable in one’s hand after the reduction in thickness and weight.

And of course, people weren’t disappointed with their hopes for a bigger screen for the iPhone 5. Apple has finally broken what seems to be their pledge to maintain a 3.5-inch screen for all their iPhone devices and let the iPhone 5 sport a bigger diagonal screen size at 4-inches. Still far from its fierce competitor’s screen size such as the Nokia Lumia 920’s 4.5-inch screen or Samsung Galaxy S III’s 4.8-inch screen but coming from a consistent 3.5-inch screen size for a very long time, people will certainly appreciate the new 4-inch screen size.

Further to the 4-inch screen, Apple also mentioned in the presentation that they were able to add a 5th row of icons in the home screen. Additionally, they increased the pixels up to 640 x 1136 to maintain the crystal clear quality of the display having 326ppi pixel density.

Wireless technology is also updated with the iPhone 5. People can now experience real high speed internet with the LTE technology and faster WiFi reaching up to 150 mbps.

Apple also prepared the battery life for all these improvements, particularly the bigger display and the LTE technology. The iPhone 5’s battery can carry on with 8 hours continuous web browsing through the LTE, 40 hours music playback, 10 hours video streaming, and 225 standby hours.

Amazing features that are also announced during the event, among others are, the FaceTime camera in HD, the improved audio system with microphones at front, bottom and back, Passbook, smarter Siri, and much, much more.

Other than the iPhone 5 features, Apple also divulged other information such as the price range ($199 to $399), the September 14 pre-order date and September 21 shipping date in US, UK, Canada, Germany, Australia, France, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore and free upgrade of iPhone 3GS, to iPhone 4s, iPad 2 and new iPad, iPod touch fourth generation on September 19.

Why You Should Switch To The Satellite TV Technology

Posted by Kristine Maxwell On 2 comments
Satellite TV technologyHouses installed with satellite dishes are increasing as months go by which indicates that more and more subscribers are starting to join the satellite TV system bandwagon. And this is for a lot of amazing reasons. While your cable subscription lets you view local and a couple of international channels, the satellite TV system does a lot better in different aspects.

At the moment, the cable TV system is still the more common form of TV networks subscription among households. The cable TV system has been in existence for quite some time and a lot of people have already been accustomed to this technology. One thing that cable TV subscribers are satisfied about the cable TV system is, the components consist merely with the receiver and a few cables while the satellite TV system requires the eye-catching satellite dish in your rooftop or concrete walls and the receiver, connected with a couple of wires. But the trade-off for these additional equipment is a different kind of television viewing experience like no other TV networking system can provide.

Certainly, you can enjoy local and international channels with your cable TV subscription. But are you getting enough choices? You are probably excited about your cable TV subscription’s moderate channel line-up but soon enough, you’d be looking for more choices of exciting channels broadcasting high action sports, the latest and wide array of movies, the most updated and reliable international news channels and much more. This is what you will get with the satellite TV system and in addition to that, all of these channels are in crystal clear digital format. With the MPEG-4 compression technology that most of the satellite TV providers are using these days, high defined videos can be possibly viewed in different devices such as your television, computers and cellphones.

For an amazing entertainment experience, aside from the digital format of the channels subscribers also get channels in high definition and amazing audio. The leading satellite TV providers include high definition channels for free. The amount of these channels differs with every provider and if you are into high definition, you can select the provider which has the most of these in their channel line-up.

However, switching from the dreary cable TV subscription is not the only reason to get the satellite TV subscription. For some consumers who cannot be reached by the cable TV system like those who live in the remote or rural areas can now have a means of getting a TV networking subscription. Since the channels are broadcasted through satellites that are placed on top of the earth, it is easy to reach anyone regardless of the location which is good news for the people in the far locations. And they don’t simply get an option with the satellite TV system. They get an amazing means to a TV network subscription, which is even way much better to metro residents who are still dwelling with their cable TV system.

With the increasing demands for a better TV viewing experience, satellite TV providers are already customizing their packages to competitive prices that can rival the cable TV subscriptions. With all these reasons for consumers to switch to or choose the satellite TV subscriptions, time will soon come when this television network technology will become the more common technology in their television sets.
